Give the glasses without taking over the account

Start with a fitting opportunity

Glasses are personal objects before they are connected devices. If you are buying for someone else, preserve the opportunity to try the exact frame and lens configuration. Check the seller’s current exchange conditions and keep the purchase documents available. A surprise is easier to enjoy when the recipient can resolve a fit problem without having to explain that an expensive gift sits badly on their face.

Let the wearer own setup

Resist the urge to complete every account step before wrapping the box. The recipient should choose the account, permissions and services they want to connect. You can charge the product according to its instructions and gather the relevant support links without making those decisions for them. Agree a convenient time to help, then let them enter credentials privately. A carefully prepared gift does not require the giver to become the permanent administrator.

Handle a previously used pair deliberately

Ray-Ban’s current FAQ says its Meta glasses pair with one Meta account at a time and require a factory reset before another person uses them. It also says a reset erases captures and the account association. If a gift includes a pair you previously set up, first preserve anything you are entitled to keep, then follow the correct transfer procedure. Do not assume deleting the phone app alone prepares the hardware for a new owner.

Include the ordinary pieces

Put the case, necessary charging accessories, model information and purchase record together. Explain any return deadline in a short note rather than making the recipient search through packaging. After setup, offer help with one useful task: a call, listening or transferring a sample capture. Let the wearer decide which features deserve further attention. The best handover ends with someone who can use and stop the device confidently, find its accessories and get support without needing to borrow your account.
