Bring the things you actually wear
A frame can look right while the rest of your day makes it awkward. Bring a coat with its collar, the bag you carry and any hat you regularly use to a try-on. Put each item on in the normal order. The aim is to discover whether you can reach the glasses, move your head and remove a shoulder strap without repeatedly catching an arm. A showroom mirror gives only part of that information.
Move before making a decision
Look down at a phone, turn toward an imaginary conversation and bend to pick up a bag. Notice movement at the bridge and contact behind the ears. Ask the retailer what adjustment is appropriate for that exact frame; do not bend an electronic temple yourself. If the frame needs frequent pushing back into place during a brief fitting, record that concern instead of assuming familiarity will resolve it.
Try the control without searching
Meta’s original 2023 Ray-Ban Meta announcement described a temple touchpad alongside voice interaction. Treat the location of a control as another fit question. With the demonstration unit in the state the retailer recommends, find the touch area and the relevant button. Can your hand reach them naturally around a collar? Can you distinguish an intended control movement from simply straightening the frame? A successful reach should feel repeatable.
Leave with a fitting note
Write down the exact frame name, size and lens configuration you tried, plus the adjustment advice. A different size or lens order deserves its own check. If you plan to order later, photographs of the product label are more useful than remembering only the color. Decide what would count as a fit failure during the return period, such as persistent slipping or contact with everyday clothing. That makes the eventual decision concrete without turning a short shop visit into a claim about long-term comfort.
